Abstract

Abstract: Introduction: The study of guided boné regeneration in implant dentistry was initiaded to optimize rehabilitation in patients with severe degree of bone resorption. Since then, some techniques and biomaterials have been improved to favor guided boné regeneration. Objective: To carry out a critical analysis, throught a literature review, about the rates of complications and succes in the use of reticulated and non-reticulated collagen membanes in guided bone regeneration. Methodology: The Search for relevant publication was performed in April 2025 using the BIREME and PubMed databases, with a search limit for the period from January 2015 to March 2025, the collected studies should be performed in vivo and in humans. The descriptors used were Guided bone regeneration, surgical wound dehiscence e collagen membrane. Conclusion: The Bio- Gide membrane was the most used non-crosslinked membrane in the studies, being used as a reference in the control groups. She had lower exposure rates, lower inflammatory responses, lower rates of surgical dehiscence and higher bone gain results.
