Introduction: Advances in rehabilitative dentistry regarding the development of alternative methods to conventional rehabilitation treatments for fully edentulous patients, coupled with improved acceptance of dental implant treatments, have led to the use of implant-retained and implant-supported prostheses becoming more effective treatment options, as they present positive biomechanical and aesthetic results, thus contributing to the patient's physical and mental well-being. Case report: A female patient sought care at the Instituto Odontológico das Américas (IOA) with the desire to replace a mandibular complete overdenture retained by two implants. Objective: To report a clinical case of rehabilitation with an overdenture on two mandibular implants in the mandibuar region. Discussion: Although very effective, fixed, implant-retained, and implant-supported complete dentures require more time-consuming and delicate fabrication, and are also more invasive and expensive. Conclusion: The use of osseointegrated implants combined with complete dentures has been a successful alternative for the prosthetic rehabilitation of fully edentulous patients, yielding advantageous results compared to conventional rehabilitation.
