Abstract

This article aims to define the epidemiological profile of patients hospitalized for renal failure in Paraná using data provided by the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DataSUS), to help guide resource allocation for combating this condition. Based on the extracted data, it was concluded that the most affected groups are men (57%), white individuals (68.5%), and those over 60 years old (58%). Therefore, there is a need for screening of the risk factors for renal failure and raising awareness among the population that belongs to the most affected groups.
