Ischemic heart diseases, such as angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction, are significant causes of global morbidity and mortality and present frequent challenges in dental practice, especially during surgical and invasive procedures. Their etiology is associated with an imbalance between myocardial oxygen supply and demand. Therefore, the dentist must be properly trained to identify clinical risks through thorough anamnesis, vital signs assessment, and appropriate management of pain and anxiety to prevent adverse events during treatment. A multidisciplinary approach involving the cardiologist is essential for planning and ensuring the safety of dental care for patients with ischemic heart conditions. Accordingly, adherence to current protocols and scientific evidence ensures effective and safe dental management for this patient population.
