Abstract
This letter to the editor discusses Ramsay Hunt Syndrome as a complication of Herpes Zoster, complementing the previous review by delving into risk factors, highlighting the role of advanced imaging techniques and PCR, and questioning the standard corticosteroid treatment in older adults or patients with comorbidities, suggesting the need for individualized protocols. Furthermore, it addresses the relationship between COVID-19 and VZV reactivation, attributing it to transient immune dysfunction and recommending vaccination as an effective preventive strategy.
