Análise dos impactos clínicos da cirurgia bariátrica em pacientes adultos jovens: uma revisão de literatura

Os estudos tem mostrado que a cirurgia bariátrica em muitos adultos jovens é uma alternativa benéfica no manejo da obesidade severa, entretanto os seus efeitos, riscos e adequações a longo prazo são pouco disseminados na prática médica e na literatura. O objetivo desta revisão de literatura foi avaliar os impactos clínicos da cirurgia bariátrica em pacientes jovens. Foi realizada uma busca por trabalhos prévios nas plataformas PubMed e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) com os descritores “bariatric surgery, young adult, obesity management, health”, foram incluídos artigos publicados de 2017 a 2024, artigos de texto completo e artigos de ensaio clínico e ensaio clínico controlado, além disso foram excluídos artigos fora do tema e artigos duplicados. Após a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão foram selecionados um total de 27 artigos científicos. Através dos estudos analisados foi observado que a cirurgia traz benefícios significativos não somente no tratamento da obesidade como também em comorbidades, como a diabetes tipo 2, síndrome dos ovários policísticos, dislipidemia e hipertensão arterial. Além dos ganhos metabólicos e de fertilidade, há evidências de melhora na expectativa de vida. No entanto, o estudo também aponta riscos associados à bariátrica, como deficiência de vitaminas, perda de massa muscular e problemas de saúde bucal. Essas complicações ressaltam a necessidade de um acompanhamento nutricional rigoroso e multidisciplinar, sobretudo para jovens que ainda estão em desenvolvimento físico. Foram identificadas lacunas na pesquisa, como o impacto na qualidade de vida e a adequação metabólica a longo prazo, além de uma padronização nos métodos de avaliação para melhor comparar os resultados. Em resumo, o artigo conclui que a cirurgia bariátrica se mostrou uma intervenção benéfica, mas requer cuidados contínuos para minimizar seus efeitos adversos.
