THE ROLE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY IN COMPLICATIONS RESULTING FROM CERVICAL CANCER IN WOMEN: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Introduction: A significant public health challenge is the high incidence of cervical cancer. Treatment of this condition can cause cervicovaginal changes and affect patients' sexual life. The main sexual dysfunctions observed after cervical cancer treatment include low sexual desire, anorgasmia, decreased arousal, pain during sex (dyspareunia), and vaginismus. In addition, complications such as vaginal narrowing and atrophy, reduced vaginal lubrication and decreased sensitivity may arise. Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in addressing these gynecological implications, promoting the recovery of muscle function and mucosal health, playing an important role in promoting women's intimate health. Objective: To investigate the role of physiotherapy in the treatment of complications resulting from uterine cancer in women. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review research. Results: Physiotherapy has proven to be effective in treating gynecological complications, resulting in improved muscular and sexual function in women after treatment for cervical cancer, with a positive impact on their quality of life.
