Abstract
The color of the tooth is something that is noticeable in an easy way, being, therefore, the whitening method the most sought after. In addition, it becomes the least invasive compared to other ways of making the tooth white, as can be cited the resin restorations composed of lenses and porcelain veneers. However, as beneficial and aesthetically rewarding as this treatment may be, it is not without side effects. This is because both forms use hydrogen peroxide or even carbamide gel. In the office this substance is used with higher concentrations and is applied by the professional, in which the patient is seated in an appropriate chair. In the homemade form, the applications are in lower concentrations and applied by the patient himself in place of his preferences. In this type of procedure it is normal to use concentrations of hydrogen peroxide ranging from 25% to 40%. This article aims to analyze which techniques can be applied that can reduce sensitivity in post-bleaching. This is a literature review where articles published between the years 2019 to 2022, in English and Portuguese, were consulted.
