Abstract

Infectious and parasitic diseases continue to pose a persistent challenge to global health, affecting populations worldwide. Understanding, early diagnosis, and effective treatment of these diseases are essential to mitigate their impact on public health. This study addresses the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of infectious and parasitic diseases, providing an overview of the challenges faced in this field of medicine. The objective of this summary is to conduct a comprehensive integrative review of diagnostic and treatment strategies for infectious and parasitic diseases. To achieve this objective, we adopted a methodology of integrative literature review. We conducted searches on academic databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus, using relevant keywords, including "infectious diseases," "parasitic diseases," "diagnosis," "treatment," and "therapeutic evaluation." We selected studies that addressed diagnostic and treatment strategies, considering their relevance and methodological quality. The results of this integrative review highlighted the diversity of infectious and parasitic diseases and the need for specific approaches to diagnosis and treatment. Advances in medicine, such as the discovery of new drugs and molecular diagnostic techniques, have improved treatment effectiveness and diagnostic accuracy. However, challenges persist, including antimicrobial resistance and limited access to adequate healthcare in some regions. Early diagnosis and effective treatment of infectious and parasitic diseases are fundamental for public health. Ongoing research and the development of innovative therapies are essential to combat these diseases. Additionally, promoting awareness and education on prevention and control is crucial. Addressing disparities in healthcare access remains a challenge.
