The supracondylar process of the humerus is an anatomical variation that occurs in the anteromedial part of the humerus, 5 to 7 centimeters away from the medial epicondyle superiorly. In this structure, a ligament called Struthers' Ligament (LS) is occasionally fixed to the proximal part of the supracondylar process and to the medial epicondyle in its distal part. This anatomical variation is considered by some authors to be a rare congenital anomaly, as it can compress important structures that pass close to this variation, such as the brachial arteries and veins and the median and ulnar nerves. This process occurs from the fixation of anomalous fibers of the pronator teres muscle that are present when there is this anatomical variation, meaning that, when the elbow is extended, there is neurovascular specificity. The objectives of this article are to present and discuss the importance of considering the supracondylar process for correct treatment in cases of nerve or vessel analysis, as well as differential diagnosis, through literary review and data collection, in addition to contributing with another report case study on such an important anatomical variation. One of the possibilities for correcting this type of interference is surgery, which is responsible for a high success rate in correcting the problem.
