MULTIPROFESSIONAL CARE IN PRENATAL CARE AS A STRATEGY FOR REDUCING MATERNAL RISKS.

Prenatal care is fundamental for promoting maternal health and preventing complications during pregnancy. In this context, a multidisciplinary approach stands out as an essential strategy for reducing maternal risks, enabling comprehensive, humanized care centered on the pregnant woman's needs. This study aimed to analyze the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in prenatal care as a strategy for reducing maternal risks. This is a descriptive literature review with a qualitative approach, conducted using searches in databases such as SciELO, LILACS, BVS, and PubMed, using descriptors related to the topic. The results showed that the integrated work of professionals such as nurses, doctors, nutritionists, psychologists, and social workers contributes to the early identification of complications, promotion of health education, strengthening of the bond with the pregnant woman, and improvement in adherence to prenatal care. Furthermore, it was observed that this approach favors the humanization of care and the reduction of complications such as gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes mellitus, and infections. It is concluded that multidisciplinary care in prenatal care is essential for improving maternal health indicators, and it is necessary to value teamwork and strengthen public policies aimed at comprehensive women's health care
