Introduction: Chapter XIX of the ICD-10, which encompasses injuries and other consequences of external causes, represents an important public health issue due to its impact on morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. In the Baixo Tocantins region, factors such as the predominant use of motorcycles, structural limitations, and difficulties in accessing specialized services intensify the occurrence and severity of these conditions, making the analysis of the local hospital epidemiological profile relevant. Objective: To analyze the profile of hospitalizations classified under Chapter XIX of ICD-10 at the Baixo Tocantins Regional Hospital – Santa Rosa, from 2021 to 2024, identifying patterns of morbidity, mortality, and associated factors. Methodology: This is a descriptive epidemiological study based on secondary data from the Hospital Information System of SUS (SIH/SUS), collected via DATASUS between January 2021 and December 2024. Indicators such as number of hospitalizations, deaths, and mortality rates were analyzed, associated with variables such as age group, sex, year, and morbidity groups. Descriptive statistics with absolute numbers and percentages were used in electronic spreadsheets. Conclusion: There was a predominance of hospitalizations due to limb fractures, especially among young men, while intracranial injuries showed higher lethality. There was a progressive increase in hospitalizations and mortality over the period, with a higher risk of death among the elderly. These findings highlight the need for preventive strategies, particularly focused on road safety, and for improving care pathways to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with external causes in the region.
