PLANEJAMENTO REPRODUTIVO NA ADOLESCÊNCIA: DESAFIOS NA APS

Abstract

Adolescence is a stage marked by intense biological, psychological, and social transformations that can directly influence sexual and reproductive behavior. In this context, reproductive planning during adolescence represents an important challenge for health services, especially within Primary Health Care (PHC), which serves as the main entry point to the health system. The occurrence of unplanned pregnancies, limited access to qualified information, and sociocultural barriers highlight the need for effective health education strategies and welcoming services aimed at adolescents. This study aims to analyze the main challenges related to reproductive planning in adolescence within the context of Primary Health Care, emphasizing the role of health professionals in promoting sexual education, facilitating access to contraceptive methods, and strengthening preventive actions directed toward adolescents.

This is a qualitative bibliographic review study conducted through the analysis of scientific articles, official documents, and academic publications available in electronic databases. Studies published in recent years addressing reproductive planning in adolescence, public policies related to adolescent health, and strategies developed in Primary Health Care for preventing early pregnancy and promoting sexual and reproductive health were selected. The results indicate that several factors hinder the effectiveness of reproductive planning among adolescents, including lack of adequate information, taboos related to sexuality, difficulties in accessing health services, and insufficient preparation of some professionals to address the topic. Therefore, it is concluded that strengthening educational actions, training health teams, and implementing intersectoral strategies are essential to expand adolescents' access to information and contraceptive methods, contributing to the promotion of sexual and reproductive health and to the reduction of unplanned pregnancies during adolescence.
