Quality of life of patients with chronic wounds treated at the Curaferida Clinic, first semester of 2024.

Chronic wounds create limitations and implications that affect not only the physical aspect, but also the psychological and social aspects, influencing the quality of life of patients. Objective: to analyze the quality of life of patients with chronic wounds treated at the Curaferida clinic in the first semester of 2024. Methodology: this is a descriptive cross-sectional observational study with a quantitative and qualitative approach. Results: The 41-65 age group predominated (55%), followed by males (52%), those with a 2nd cycle of secondary education (40%), workers (67%), married (37%), and residents of Luanda province (91%), predominantly in the municipalities of Viana (27%) and Belas (27%). Regarding neighborhoods, there was a wide dispersion of values. Concerning knowledge about their health status, 91% stated they were aware of their health status. Regarding self-assessment of quality of life, 58% considered their quality of life "neither good nor bad". Regarding the average score per domain of the WHOQL-BREF scale, the psychological domain obtained an average of 64.08 points, the social domain an average of 62.97, the physical domain an average of 55.79, and the environmental domain an average of... 53.12 and regarding overall QoL, an average of 50.37 points was obtained. Conclusions: we conclude that the overall objective of this research carried out at the Curaferida Murro Bento Clinic was achieved, answering the initial question of this study. The results show that 58% of patients have a quality of life classified as "neither good nor bad", where the average overall QoL score was 50.37 points, predominantly affected by the environmental and physical domains.
