Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability and functional dependence worldwide, increasing the demand for informal caregivers whose quality of life is often affected by burden and lack of preparation. Understanding how sociodemographic, clinical, and functional factors influence these caregivers is essential to guide support strategies. This study aimed to analyze the quality of life of informal caregivers of individuals with stroke sequelae and its relationship with sociodemographic characteristics, clinical conditions, patient functional independence, and caregiver burden. A cross-sectional observational study was conducted with informal caregivers recruited in home and outpatient settings. Standardized instruments were used to assess quality of life, caregiver burden, and patient functionality, along with a sociodemographic questionnaire. Statistical analysis included association tests and correlation measures. Results indicated that younger caregivers, those with lower income, and those dedicating more time to caregiving showed poorer quality of life. Higher burden levels and lower patient independence were also significantly associated with worse outcomes. In conclusion, informal caregivers’ quality of life is influenced by multiple interconnected factors. The findings highlight the need for emotional, educational, and social support to reduce burden and promote better conditions of care and well-being.
