Breast cancer and cervical cancer represent significant causes of morbidity and mortality among women, constituting relevant public health problems, especially in contexts of unequal access to prevention and diagnostic services. This study aimed to analyze the role of the multidisciplinary team in screening for these neoplasms, with an emphasis on prevention and early detection actions within the scope of primary health care. This is an integrative literature review, with a qualitative approach, carried out in national and international scientific databases, considering recent publications that addressed screening strategies, women's adherence to preventive examinations, and interprofessional action. The results showed that the periodic performance of mammography and cytopathological examination is an essential measure for reducing mortality, with its effectiveness depending on population coverage, the organization of services, and the bond established between health professionals and users. The integrated action of nurses, doctors, community health agents, and other professionals in health education, active search, reception, and timely referral was highlighted, favoring comprehensive care and continuity of care. It is concluded that strengthening primary care, combined with multidisciplinary work and expanding access to preventive actions, is fundamental for controlling breast and cervical cancer, contributing to the reduction of inequalities and the promotion of women's health.
