Gestational Toxoplasmosis in Brazil: Analysis of Case Trends from 2019 to 2024

This study addresses gestational toxoplasmosis in Brazil, focusing on the analysis of case trends between 2019 and 2024. It is a descriptive epidemiological study based on secondary data obtained from DATASUS, the official platform of the Brazilian Unified Health System. The analysis covered the regional and temporal distribution of reported cases, highlighting a significant increase in infections during the study period. Results indicate a marked growth, especially in the Northeast and Southeast regions, revealing challenges related to prevention, diagnosis, and management of the disease during pregnancy. Despite advances in epidemiological surveillance, limitations such as underreporting and data heterogeneity were identified. It is concluded that gestational toxoplasmosis represents a significant public health issue in Brazil, requiring integrated strategies for infection control and protection of maternal and child health.
