Abstract

This clinical case report describes the endodontic treatment of an upper molar using a Solla Collors file in a single session. A male patient, with no history of systemic diseases, was referred to a private practice complaining of pain in tooth 46. Clinically, an amalgam restoration was observed. Radiographically, secondary caries was observed near the distal horn. After anesthesia, the tooth was isolated and coronal access was performed. Irrigation was performed with 2.5% Sodium Hypochlorite. After exploration of the root canal, electronic odontometry was performed with an Irrot Apex apex locator. Root canal preparation was performed with a Solla Collors S1 #35.04 file until the established working length was reached. Foraminal patency, extending 1 mm beyond the apical foramen opening, was achieved with a Solla Collors Glidepath #16/02 file. Obturation was performed using the single cone technique associated with Bio-C Sealer cement. It is concluded that Solla Collors files provide a well-defined shape, which facilitates the obturation of the root canal system.
