Abstract

A 34-year-old male patient, with no comorbidities, was referred to a private endodontist's office for endodontic treatment of tooth 26. Clinically, there was no spontaneous pain, but the tooth responded positively to the pulp sensitivity test. Radiographic examination revealed secondary caries reaching the pulp chamber. Based on clinical and radiographic examinations, an asymptomatic irreversible pulpitis was diagnosed. After anesthesia and opening, root canal exploration was performed with #08 and #10 manual files (C Pilot). Electronic odontometry was performed with an apex locator to obtain the actual length of the tooth. Root canal preparation was performed with Files Collors S1 #5.04. Foraminal patency was achieved with Glide Path Solla Collors 16/02. Obturation of the root canal system was performed using the calibrated single cone technique associated with N ROOT SP bioceramic cement. It is concluded that the Solla File Collors S1 file determined an efficient shaping of the root canal, and consequently, facilitated the obturation of the root canal system using the single cone technique in an upper molar.
