Menopause is a natural physiological process characterized by the reduction of hormonal levels and the onset of symptoms that affect women’s quality of life, including decreased libido. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is widely used to relieve these symptoms, restoring hormonal balance and promoting physical and emotional well-being. This study aimed to analyze the effects of HRT on female libido during menopause, also considering professional supervision, types of therapy, routes of administration, and possible adverse effects. This is an observational, cross-sectional, and quantitative study, conducted through a digital questionnaire applied via Google Forms, answered by 28 women aged between 45 and 62 years who were undergoing HRT. The analyzed variables included age group, professional guidance, type of therapy, duration of use, route of administration, libido perception, side effects, and sexual quality of life. The results showed that 78.6% of the participants started HRT with professional prescription, with physicians being the main prescribers. The combined estrogen and progesterone therapy was the most frequently used (50%), with a predominance of the oral route (60.7%). Most participants reported an increase in libido (64.3%) and an improvement in sexual quality of life (96.4%), while 35.7% reported mild side effects. Additionally, 75% of the women stated that they adopted complementary strategies, such as regular physical activity, balanced diet, and the use of herbal medicines. It is concluded that HRT has a positive impact on libido and sexual quality of life in menopausal women, being effective in minimizing the effects of hormonal deficiency. However, it is emphasized that professional follow-up and individualized treatment are essential to ensure safety and better therapeutic outcomes.
