Abstract

Patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS often face a range of physical, musculoskeletal, respiratory and neurological challenges. Physiotherapy plays a vital role in managing these complications and improving the quality of life of patients. The present work aims to analyze the professional profile and physiotherapeutic assistance in the context of HIV/AIDS. To this end, questionnaires were administered to 58 physiotherapists about their experiences and knowledge about interventions in patients with HIV/AIDS. It was concluded that physiotherapy plays an integrated and multidisciplinary role in the care of patients with HIV/AIDS. By addressing physical, musculoskeletal, respiratory, neurological and emotional aspects, physiotherapists contribute significantly to improving the quality of life and functional capacity of these patients, playing a vital role in their journey of coping with this chronic condition.
