Vivência de Estudantes de Medicina em Ações Educativas e Preventivas sobre o Câncer de Mama e Colo do Útero no CEME Sarandi

Abstract

During the month of October, medical students participated in an outreach activity linked to the Pink October campaign, held at the Medical Specialties Center (CEME) in Sarandi. The activity aimed to promote health education focused on the prevention of breast and cervical cancer, as well as to conduct screenings and collect preventive tests. Initially, an educational lecture was given to women assisted at the service, addressing the importance of mammography and the Pap smear. Subsequently, the students accompanied patient consultations, listened to their complaints, performed preventive test collections, and provided guidance regarding the performance of mammography. The experience contributed to strengthening the bond between the community and the university, providing practical learning for students and generating a positive social impact on the promotion of women’s health.
