Digital Transformation of the SUS: Challenges for the Implementation of New Technologies to Promote Comprehensive Care and Reduce Inequality in the Unified Health System.

Abstract

Introduction: Digital transformation, driven by Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), represents a powerful tool to enhance population access to healthcare services and support the work of multidisciplinary teams within the Unified Health System (SUS). However, its implementation faces complex challenges that may directly impact the comprehensiveness of care provided.

Objective: The main objective of this study is to highlight how digital technologies can improve population access to healthcare services and to assess the challenges that delay the digital transformation of the SUS, including issues related to data security and professional training.

Methodology: Three different forms will be developed using Google Forms to collect feedback and evaluate the acceptance of digital transformation. These forms will be directed to SUS users, healthcare professionals, and managers of public health facilities in the southern region of Espírito Santo.

Conclusion: It is expected that the analysis of the collected data will validate the importance of new technologies for the public health network and identify strategies to overcome existing barriers. The ultimate goal is to promote greater comprehensiveness of care, reduce inequalities, and significantly contribute to the improvement of the public healthcare system in Brazil.
