Abstract

Objective: Investigate psoriasis, focusing on its pathophysiology, clinical forms, triggering factors, and therapeutic approaches. Methods: Narrative review on psoriasis, covering its pathophysiology, clinical forms, and treatment options. Literature Review: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease with genetic and environmental bases that affects the skin, presenting with varied clinical manifestations such as plaque, guttate, pustular psoriasis, and others. The interaction between immune cells and keratinocytes is central to the disease's development. Factors like stress, infections, and obesity act as triggers. Angiogenesis plays a significant role in psoriasis and is a promising therapeutic target. Treatment varies based on severity and includes topical corticosteroids, phototherapy, systemic medications, and immunobiologics. Conclusion: Psoriasis is a multifactorial, chronic disease with no cure, but it can be managed with effective therapies that improve patients' quality of life. However, its complex nature requires further studies and innovations in treatment.
