Organ and tissue transplantation is a remarkable achievement of modern medicine, offering hope and a second chance at life for countless patients. This review article addresses the comprehensive landscape of this multidisciplinary field, exploring advanced surgical techniques, ethical challenges, and future perspectives. Advanced surgical techniques are crucial for the success of transplants, enabling safer and more effective procedures. Tissue engineering and 3D printing of organs are emerging as promising innovations but also present ethical dilemmas. Complex ethical issues permeate organ transplantation, from the fair allocation of organs to informed consent and patient privacy. Ethics are paramount at every stage of the transplant process and require careful consideration. Future challenges include organ scarcity, which demands innovative solutions such as organ regeneration and artificial organs. Ensuring global access to transplantation and addressing emerging issues like the use of artificial intelligence are essential tasks. Ultimately, organ and tissue transplantation is a dynamic field that requires collaboration among healthcare professionals, researchers, ethicists, and society. Ongoing discussion is crucial to ensure that technical and ethical advancements benefit humanity in a fair and equitable manner.
