Abstract
Introduction: Premature Oral Aging Syndrome (PEOS) is gaining prominence in modern dentistry due to its high incidence. Objective: The main objective of this study is to analyze the influence of psychological problems observed in current generations on the increase in cases of Premature Oral Aging Syndrome, aiming to identify its etiological factors and its multidisciplinary approach. Methodology: A literature review of scientific articles published in the last 11 years in English and Portuguese was carried out, searching the PubMed and Google Scholar databases. Results: The results obtained throughout the textual analysis report that the presence of psychological disorders in young patients is directly linked to Premature Oral Aging Syndrome and its oral manifestations. Conclusion: In short, it is conclusive that Premature Oral Aging Syndrome has a multifactorial etiology and psychological factors lead to correlated oral manifestations and the dentist has a fundamental role in its accurate diagnosis.
