Preparation of the lower molar with solla purple files in a single session.

Abstract

This clinical case report refers to endodontic treatment of a lower molar with a Solla Purple file in a single session. A 38-year-old male patient with no history of systemic diseases sought a private practice complaining of pain when chewing on tooth 36. Clinically, it was observed that there was caries and resin restoration, in addition to spontaneous pain. The probable diagnosis was asymptomatic irreversible pulpitis. After anesthesia, the tooth was isolated and the coronal access and exploration of the root canals were performed. Irrigation was performed with saline solution and 2% chlorhexidine gel. After exploration of the root canal, electronic odontometry was performed with an apex locator, Irrot Apex. The root canals were prepared with a Solla Purple file #35.04 and the foraminal patency, extending 1 mm beyond the apical foramen exit, was achieved with a Solla Fille Purple Glidepath file #15/04. The obturation technique was performed with a single calibrated gutta-percha cone FR-EL associated with the Bio-C Selaler sealer. The root canals were prepared with a Solla Purple file to determine an adequate modeling, which facilitates the obturation of the root canal system.
