Hybridization of the Prodesign Logic RT system and Solla Purple file in the retreatment of the upper right molar.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to describe a clinical case of endodontic retreatment in a single session of the upper molar. Radiographically, the presence of filling material below the adequate apical limit (underfilling) was observed. After anesthesia, the coronal opening was performed in an appropriate manner. The gutta-percha was removed with the Logic RT 25.08 system. Foraminal electronic odontometry was performed with the Root Zx Mini Apex Locator (J. Morita Corp., USA). The irrigating substance used was 2% chlorhexidine gel and saline solution. The preparation was performed with Solla Purple 35.04 files in the MV1-MV2-Distovestibular canals and repreparation with Solla 50.04 in the palatine canal. Foraminal patency was achieved with the Solla Collors 16/02 Glidepath File, one millimeter beyond the exit of the apical foramen. The root canal system was obturated using the single cone technique Cone Odous de Deus FMEL # 35 and # 50, associated with Bio-C Sealer cement. It is concluded that endodontic retreatment in a single session determined the success of conservative endodontic therapy.
