Abstract

This article aims to analyze the epidemiology of hospitalizations for heart failure in Brazil from 2014 to 2024. It is a descriptive, cross-sectional, and epidemiological study. Data on hospitalizations for heart failure were obtained from the Hospital Information System of the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (SIH/DATASUS), considering the period from 2014 to 2024. The analyzed variables included sex, age group, race, and the number of hospitalizations per year. During the analyzed period, 1,038,765 hospitalizations for heart failure were recorded in Brazil. Thus, the analysis of hospitalizations between 2014 and 2024 reveals a significant increase in cases, with peaks in 2022, 2023, and 2024, highlighting the importance of this condition for public health and the need for effective strategies for disease prevention and management.
