Abstract

Introduction: Infertility is a condition defined as the inability to achieve a successful pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular, unprotected sexual intercourse. In this context, during PRP administration, a considerable increase in the average endometrial thickness was observed on the 14th day, resulting in a clinical pregnancy rate of 15.6%. Objective: To investigate whether intrauterine infusion of PRP has a positive effect on pregnancy outcomes for patients with repeated implantation failures. Methodology: This study is an integrative literature review. A search was conducted in the National Library of Medicine (PUBMED), Cochrane Library, and Virtual Health Library (BVS) databases. The search tool used for retrieving the articles in this review was: (“PRP” OR “Platelet-Rich Plasma”) AND “endometrium.” Thus, the search yielded 262 studies selected for detailed evaluation, of which 68 met the inclusion criteria, and finally, only 8 studies were selected for this review. Results: PRP therapy has emerged as a promising approach in the treatment of uterine implantation failures, particularly in patients struggling to conceive, even after in vitro fertilization (IVF) attempts. PRP is an autologous concentrate obtained from the patient’s own blood, containing a high concentration of platelets and growth factors, which play a crucial role in tissue regeneration and modulation of the inflammatory response. The intrauterine infusion of PRP aims to improve endometrial receptivity, creating a more favorable environment for embryo implantation. Conclusion: The analyzed studies demonstrate that intrauterine infusion of PRP can improve pregnancy rates in patients with recurrent implantation failure, particularly in cases of thin endometrium.
