Abstract
Objective: To analyze the mortality trend due to malignant neoplasms of the colon in Brazil. Methodology: This descriptive study analyzed secondary data from DATASUS on hospital mortality due to malignant neoplasms of the colon in Brazil, between 2018 and 2024. The research used ICD-10 (C18) and variables such as year, sex, region and age group. Regarding the analysis by year of service. Results and Discussions: The research showed a greater emphasis on the year 2023 with 5,335 deaths, females with 14,514, the age group between 60 and 69 years with 7,971 and the southeast region with the highest incidence with 14,579 deaths and the highest mortality rate with 10.08. This reflects, Conclusion: Thus, the adoption of public policies is crucial for the prevention of colon cancer, one of the most common malignant neoplasms in Brazil and the world. These initiatives play an essential role in raising awareness among the population, encouraging healthy practices and expanding access to early diagnosis and effective treatment.
