This article reviews the scientific literature on the neurological sequelae of traumatic brain injury (TBI) in childhood, focusing on the challenges faced in clinical management and the impact on neuropsychological development. The research, conducted in the PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases using the terms "Neurological sequelae, Traumatic brain injury, Childhood, Neuropsychological development," reveals that TBI in childhood can lead to cognitive, motor, emotional, and behavioral deficits. These effects can be immediate or emerge over time, depending on the severity and location of the injury. Treatment requires a multidisciplinary approach, involving neurologists, neuropsychologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals. Early interventions are essential to minimize sequelae and promote recovery.
