Abstract
This article aims to analyze the epidemiology of glaucoma hospitalizations in Brazil from 2014 to 2024. It is a descriptive, cross-sectional, and epidemiological study. Data on glaucoma hospitalizations were obtained from the Hospital Information System of the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (SIH/DATASUS), considering the period from 2014 to 2024. The analyzed variables included sex, age group, race, number of hospitalizations per year, and type of care.During the analyzed period, 65,122 hospitalizations for glaucoma were recorded in Brazil. The analysis of glaucoma hospitalizations between 2014 and 2024 reveals a significant increase in cases, with peaks in 2022, 2023, and 2024, highlighting the growing relevance of this condition to public health and the need for preventive and treatment measures.
