Significant decrease after endodontic retreatment – 6-month clinical and radiographic control.

This study reported the repair of a periapical lesion after endodontic retreatment. A 42-year-old female patient was referred to an endodontic specialist for endodontic retreatment of tooth 36. Clinically, she was asymptomatic, and the periapical radiographic examination revealed radiopaque material similar to gutta percha and an inadequate filling of the canal (sub -root canal filling, in addition to a radiolucent image present in the mesial root of the lower molar. After anesthesia, coronal opening was performed. Desobturation was performed with ProDesign Logic RT #.25/08 rotary instruments. Preparation of all root canals was performed with Logic, #30.05 rotary instruments. used was Ultracal. Root canal filling was performed using the single cone technique #30.05 and bioceramic endodontic cement. Bio-C Sealer. At the 6-month follow-up, the patient was asymptomatic and the radiographic examination confirmed a significant reduction in the periapical lesion. It is concluded that retreatment carried out with a rotary system and intracanal medication determines the success of endodontic therapy.
