Abstract

Oral rehabilitation using single dental implants stands out as an effective alternative for restoring masticatory function, aesthetics, and quality of life for edentulous patients or those with compromised teeth. Since its introduction into clinical practice, dental implants have evolved significantly, both in the development of new materials and the application of more advanced surgical and prosthetic techniques, always aiming to improve clinical outcomes and reduce treatment duration. The immediate loading technique, which allows for the placement of the dental prosthesis immediately after the surgical placement of implants, has gained increasing attention in dentistry for offering a quick and efficient solution for oral rehabilitation. This approach differs from conventional methods, which require a healing period before the prosthesis can be installed, thus prolonging treatment and often negatively affecting patient experience and satisfaction. The aim of this study was to investigate the mechanisms and applicability of immediate loading in rehabilitations with single dental implants. The methodology used in this study consisted of a literature review, enabling a thorough analysis of the topic. The immediate loading technique in rehabilitations with single dental implants represents a promising approach, offering an efficient and swift solution for restoring masticatory function and smile aesthetics, meeting the demands of patients seeking quick and satisfactory results.
