Abstract
This work aims to report apexification with a bioceramic apical plug in the upper lateral incisor. The x-ray confirmed an open apex with divergent walls and the presence of a periapical lesion, and immediate apexification was proposed as a treatment. After anesthesia and coronary access and manual instrumentation with a number 100 K-file, associated with copious irrigation with 2% Chlorhexidine, in order to determine the sanitation of the root canals, the irrigating solution was shaken with Easy Clean. After completing the biomechanical preparation, photodynamic therapy (PDT) was performed. Filling the root canal with 0.005% methylene blue photosensitizing agent and activation of the low-power laser from the manufacturer MMO. Light emission: Semiconductor laser with a wavelength of 660nm with the aid of fiber optics (MMO) performing elliptical movements for 90 seconds. The filling of the root canal system was performed by filling bioceramic cement – PBS CIMMO HP with the aid of McSpaden number 80 and condensate from calibrated paper cones. It is concluded that the use of bioceramic repair cement was effective in the treatment of open apex, as it induces the formation of mineralized tissue and apical sealing.
