Abstract
Introduction: Oral rehabilitation with fixed unitary and partial prostheses on dental implants has become a common practice in modern implantology. Careful planning and precise execution are crucial for the success of the treatment, considering the complexity of the cases and the patients' expectations. Objective: This article aims to review the current literature on the planning and execution techniques of fixed unitary and partial prostheses on implants, addressing the technical, aesthetic, and functional aspects that influence clinical outcomes. Methodology: A literature review was conducted on fixed unitary and partial prostheses on implants, consulting databases such as BVS, PubMed, and SciELO. The research selected 23 relevant articles published between 2019 and 2024, after excluding theses and works outside the topic. Discussion: The main prosthetic platforms currently used in fixed unitary or partial prostheses on implants are cone morse and grand morse. Regarding the prosthetic abutments, the T-base abutment technology brings aesthetics as a main differential. The use of digital technologies, such as intraoral scanning and virtual planning, also contributes to the precision in the execution of the prostheses. Conclusion: Appropriate planning and execution techniques for fixed unitary and partial prostheses on implants are essential to achieve satisfactory and lasting results. The continuous evolution of materials and technologies offers new possibilities for optimizing these treatments, promoting oral health and the quality of life of patients.
