Preparation of the root canal of the upper canine with a Lima Solla Collors Rotary File

Abstract

This study described the preparation of the maxillary canine root canal with a Lima Solla Collors rotary file.   A 61-year-old male patient, with no history of systemic diseases, sought a private office, complaining of pain and a sensation of tooth growth in tooth 23. Clinically, he is asymptomatic, with a negative response to the cold pulp sensitivity test performed with refrigerant gas. After anesthesia, coronary opening and root canal exploration were performed. The working length was determined with an apex locator, followed by gentle irrigation with 2% Chlorhexidine. The preparation of the canal was carried out with a Solla Collors rotary file 70/03 and the foraminal patency was made with the Solla Collors Glidepath File 16/02, one millimeter beyond the apical foramen. The filling of the canal system was performed using the HB single cone technique, associated with Bio C Sealer cement. It is concluded that the success of endodontic therapy is achieved when the diagnosis is correctly made, preparation with adequate modeling and an airtight filling, as well as the definitive sealing of the coronary access.
