Abstract
Patients with Down syndrome have some specific oral changes such as hypotonia, oral breathing, protrusion and absence of lip sealing, thus requiring specialized treatments. This present work aims to verify in the literature the research on the benefits of using the Palatal Memory Plate associated with orofacial exercises in children with Down syndrome, using the treatment in the first months of life. The Palatal Memory Plate is an intraoral device that when treated together with myofunctional therapy improves the positioning of the child's lip and tongue.
