Abstract

Introduction: The comparison between ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke reveals different risk factors, diagnoses and treatments. Ischemic stroke, more common, is associated with hypertension and heart disease, while hemorrhagic stroke, less frequent, has high mortality. Imaging diagnoses are essential, and treatments range from thrombolysis in ischemic stroke to pressure control and surgeries in bleeding. Methodology: The study on "Comparation between Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Stroke" used scientific bases such as PubMed and SciELO to select articles from 2015 to 2024, focusing on risk factors, diagnoses and stroke management. A critical analysis was performed to evaluate the quality of the studies and identify gaps in the existing literature. Results and discussions: The studies show that ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke share risk factors such as hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, but with particularities in diagnosis and treatment. Ischemic stroke is associated with the use of thrombolytics and endovascular interventions, while hemorrhagic stroke requires blood pressure control and, in severe cases, surgical intervention. Early rehabilitation is crucial to maximize functional recovery. Final Considerations: The comparison between ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke shows the need for distinct preventive and therapeutic approaches. Ischemic stroke, usually caused by arterial obstruction, requires rapid restoration of blood flow through thrombolysis or endovascular interventions. Hemorrhagic stroke requires immediate control of bleeding and intracranial pressure, with often necessary surgical interventions. Advances in diagnosis and prevention of risk factors are crucial, as well as the performance of multidisciplinary teams and new technologies, such as artificial intelligence.
