Abstract

This article aims to analyze the risk factors associated with deep vein thrombosis in high-risk patients and to propose prevention strategies that can be effectively implemented in the clinical context. The Pubmed Science database was used as search engines to select articles, using the keywords “Deep Vein Thrombosis”, “Risk Factors”, and “Prevention”. The final considerations of this study highlight the relevance of early identification and effective management of risk factors associated with deep vein thrombosis in high-risk patients. The research showed that comorbidities, prolonged immobilization, and obesity play critical roles in the incidence of DVT. Therefore, the adoption of preventive strategies, such as early mobilization, use of compression stockings, and pharmacological prophylaxis, is essential to reduce the occurrence of this condition. Continuous education of health professionals and patients about the importance of these measures is essential to improve clinical outcomes. In addition, the need for regular and individualized monitoring of patients at risk cannot be underestimated. Programs that promote the adoption of healthy habits and weight management should be integrated into clinical practices to address obesity as a significant risk factor. In summary, a multifactorial and collaborative approach is crucial to effectively prevent deep vein thrombosis, thus improving patients' quality of life and minimizing associated complications.
