Abstract

Oral Aphthous Stomatitis is a condition that affects the oral cavity and whose etiology is not yet completely understood. The literature suggests that factors such as genetic predisposition, nutritional deficiencies, mechanical injuries and even stress may contribute to the development of the disease. Aphthous stomatitis causes significant discomfort to patients. Available treatments may include topical, natural or medicinal options. The aim of this work is to explore different treatment methods for recurrent oral aphthous stomatitis. The research was carried out in databases such as SciELO, PubMed and BVS. The results showed that there are a variety of therapeutic approaches, the choice of which depends on the severity of the canker sores and the patient's systemic conditions. Although there is no definitive cure for aphthous stomatitis, available treatments help reduce inflammation and relieve painful symptoms.
