Abstract

Palliative care plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life for patients with advanced illnesses, providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support. Various approaches have been explored, including dignity therapy, integration of home-based palliative care, and the use of complementary and alternative therapies. However, challenges persist, such as cognitive and cultural barriers and access difficulties, particularly among vulnerable populations like migrants and children. Additionally, the lack of awareness and misconceptions about palliative care restrict its adoption. This article addresses these issues and discusses the importance of patient-centered interventions, health education, and cultural changes to optimize the provision of palliative care.
