CUIDADO SENSÍVEL: ABORDAGEM DA EQUIPE DE ENFERMAGEM EM PACIENTES COM TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA (TEA)

Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex condition that affects communication, social interaction, and behavior, requiring specific approaches in the care environment. The objective of this research is to explore the interaction between nursing care and autistic patients, highlighting the importance of sensitive and inclusive practices. The study will address the need for a deep understanding of ASD by the nursing team, emphasizing the importance of empathy and the adaptation of communication strategies. Barriers faced by autistic patients in hospital and outpatient settings will be analyzed, aiming to identify practices that promote a welcoming and safe environment. The methodology employed in this research involved a descriptive and exploratory literature review of studies found in databases such as Scielo, PubMed, and the Virtual Health Library (VHL). Specific interventions, such as sensitivity training, will be discussed to enhance the nursing team's skills in providing individualized and inclusive care. Finally, one of the goals of this work is to contribute to the development of guidelines and protocols that facilitate the adaptation of the hospital environment to the needs of autistic patients, promoting a more effective, humanized, and inclusive nursing practice.
