Introduction: Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed type of cancer globally and is the leading cause of cancer death among women. Conservative treatment is not always possible. Mastectomy remains a procedure that can impact quality of life. Objective: To identify recent evidence in the literature on the quality of life of women with breast cancer who underwent mastectomy surgery. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review with articles dated between 2019 and 2024 in the LILACS, Google Scholar, and Capes Journals databases. Results: Eight articles were selected to compose the research. Final Considerations: Women suffer complex adverse effects from mastectomy in all dimensions of quality of life, such as body image, physical dimensions, mental health, and emotional aspects.
