Introduction: Gynecological cancers, which include ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers, represent a significant group of malignant neoplasms affecting women's health worldwide. Among these, ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers are the most prevalent, being responsible for a high rate of morbidity and mortality.
Methodology: The methodology of this integrative review was designed to encompass a wide range of studies addressing advances in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological cancers, with an emphasis on personalized approaches. The review followed the recommended methodological guidelines for integrative reviews, allowing for the inclusion of studies with different methodological approaches, including qualitative and quantitative studies, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and clinical trials. This approach provided a comprehensive and multifaceted view of the issues under analysis.
Result: One of the main innovations in the diagnosis of prostate cancer is the use of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI), which allows for a detailed visualization of the prostate and suspicious lesions. This non-invasive method has been shown to significantly improve diagnostic accuracy, reducing the need for repeated biopsies and increasing the detection of clinically significant tumors.
Conclusion: In the field of diagnosis, the introduction of advanced imaging technologies and molecular biomarkers has revolutionized the detection and staging of gynecological cancers. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET-CT) are increasingly used to provide a detailed assessment of the extent of the disease, especially in ovarian and endometrial cancers.
