Abstract
The objective of the present study was to evaluate postoperative pain in 100 lower molars with chronic apical periodontitis submitted to preparation with the Prodesing Logic system. The prospective observational study included one hundred lower molars that, after clinical and radiographic examination, endodontic treatment was performed: anesthesia and absolute isolation and coronal opening, root canal preparation with the Logic System 2 up to the 25#06 file in the mesial and 40# canals 05 in the distal canals, along the length of the apical foramen, using the Root ZX® apex locator. All procedures were performed by the same operator and performed in a single session. The presence of periapical lesion was analyzed based on clinical and radiographic aspects. Pain was evaluated for a period of 24 and 48 hours. Based on the results, a low incidence of postoperative pain was concluded.
