Abstract
The search for aesthetic procedures that aim to restore health, consequently raising self-esteem, has been a constant search nowadays. To analyze the scientific evidence on dentin usensitivity associated with tooth bleaching. The integrative literature review consists of building a broader analysis of the literature, contributing to discussions on research methods and results, as well as reflections on future studies. “What is the scientific evidence related to dental sensitivity associated with tooth whitening?”. The search for articles was carried out in the databases: LILACS, Scielo and MEDLINE. We found 7 studies that contemplated the objectives of this review, with that, 4 in MEDLINE and 3 in LILACS, the studies contemplated direct methodologies such as: randomized studies and cohorts, as well as quantitative evaluative methodologies. It can be concluded that dentin sensitivity during and after the bleaching process is a frequent event, however, there are management alternatives, through the use of neural or obliterating desensitizers, in addition to the prescription of anti-inflammatory drugs.
