This article aims to perform an integrative review of the current evidence on the treatment and prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections in children, using the PubMed database with the terms “Urinary Tract Infection”, “Child”, “Treatment”, and “Prevention”. In summary, the integrative review of the methods of treatment and prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections in children highlights the importance of a comprehensive and personalized approach for each case. The combination of antibiotic therapies, non-pharmacological strategies and preventive measures, such as the promotion of adequate genital hygiene and the administration of probiotics, can result in a significant reduction in the recurrence rate and an overall improvement in the quality of life of affected children. The integration of these practices, combined with early diagnosis and continuous monitoring, is crucial to achieve positive and lasting clinical outcomes. However, there are still gaps in the research that must be addressed to optimize the management of recurrent urinary tract infections. Standardizing treatment guidelines and conducting additional studies on innovative preventive approaches are essential to refine existing strategies and ensure high-quality care. Collaboration among health care professionals, researchers, and families is critical to the effective implementation of these practices and the continued development of new evidence-based approaches.
