This article aims to evaluate the clinical aspects of asthma performed in the last five years. Integrative review in the BVS, LILACS, SciELO, PubMed database of works published between 2020 and 2024, combining the descriptors "asthma", "diagnosis" and "treatment". Bronchial asthma is a disease characterized by diffuse inflammation of the airways, triggered by various triggering stimuli, which results in partial or completely reversible bronchoconstriction. It is concluded that the diagnosis is based on history, physical examination and pulmonary function tests. Treatment involves control of triggering factors and drug therapy, most commonly with the inhalation of beta-2 agonists and corticosteroids.
